French Year Abroad placements with BBC News bureaux
BBC News bureaux is looking for an intern to work in Brussels, the hub for all BBC operations in Europe, from September 2020 to June 2021. They cover the institutions of the European Union and deploy journalists around Europe to ensure informative, innovative and balanced news coverage.
The BBC News bureaux in Paris is also looking for an intern which normally runs from October until the end of March. The BBC News bureau in Paris is a very busy office covering news from across France as well as political, economic and cultural stories in the capital.
Both roles involve a variety of responsibilities including:
- Researching news stories.
- Monitoring press conferences.
- Preparing briefs for correspondents.
- Helping make travel arrangements.
- Assisting the production of both TV and radio.
Fluency in French and/or another EU language will be a distinct advantage in the selection process. A proven interest in journalism or a related profession is also required.
