AB Apartment Barcelona is a company who mainly rent out holiday apartments and mid-term apartments in central Barcelona. They offer 500+ properties over the city on short and mid-term contracts to many visitors from all over the world. This is something reflected in their two offices in Barcelona, which both have an international workforce of around 50 employees that communicate commonly in Spanish. This placement will allow you to improve your Spanish whilst having a meaningful and vital contribution to the marketing aspect of this firm.

Interns will carry out a variety of tasks including:

  • Blogging: You will be the main generator of content on a weekly basis to their blog about things to see and do in the city (https://blog.apartmentbarcelona.com/).
  • Social Media: You will have the ability to manage all of the company´s social media streams, covering Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
  • Apartment descriptions: You will be responsible for writing descriptions of all the new apartments gained by AB, which will be uploaded to their website.
  • Translating: You will also be able to assist colleagues in translating from Spanish into English. An important role that will improve your Spanish, alongside speaking in Spanish in their central office.

This paid Year Abroad placement gives you the opportunity to work in a medium sized firm and enjoy the responsibilities of being a digital marketing intern. More importantly, you will be able to practice Spanish in a number of contexts to apply your knowledge and enhance your ability further.
