Not sure if you saw the great news last week, but the British Council have decided to exceptionally re-open applications for their Language Assistants programme to compulsory residence abroad language students – if you’re still trying to find a work placement, this could be another option for you!

To give you a good headstart, we would like to invite you to a webinar on Friday 26th  June between 11am-12pm; a panel of previous British Council Language Assistants from University of Leeds sharing their experiences but more importantly their tips and advice for a successful application. This is the perfect chance to ask an English Language Assistant what the experience is like!

Can’t make it but have questions?! Send us any questions at lcsemployability@leeds.ac.uk if you want to ask a Language Assistant about their experiences and we’ll try and get it answered for you!

You may also wish to review the presentation that was given to students by the British Council in November 2019 by going to Minerva > Learn > School of Languages, Cultures and Societies > Residence Abroad > British Language Assistantships > 2020/21

If you decide to go ahead with the British Council application, please inform lcsemployability@leeds.ac.uk so that we can transfer you from the list of work placement students to the list of students who have chosen to do a British Council Assistantship.

If you are interested in applying, please see further information from the British Council in our email to you on 19/06/2020. The deadline to submit your application is 3rd July 2020.

Looking forward to seeing some of you at the webinar!
